We are seeking a System Analyst (Data), who is well versed withl Data Modelling / Data Extraction and Transformations, to join our B2B Tech team on our journey to build a Global Data Platform in Stepstone. That platform, unlike purely analytical solutions, will stream real-time data to fuel a number of business-critical use-cases, including but not limited to personalised user facing products, ML and AI systems and internal products, which power our business. It will materialise our ambition to become the JobTech leader. As a System Analyst you will work closely with a Data Engineering team and our Tech leadership to help analyze, collect and document the B2B data landscape.
Responsibilities:
Get to know the needs of our products that are directly facing both our end users (recruiters) as well as internal consumers, so we know how we can support them from a data perspective.
Extract and prepare data from various sources across multiple markets
Assess the data quality / completeness vs benchmark requirements
Make recommendations to the Tech Leadership
Design logical data domain models (entities and events) and map them to Avro IDL schemas
Define data domain flows, validation and processing rules as well as new requirements for the Data Platform Tooling when essential
Ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards.
Create and maintain documentation of requirements, data models, glossaries, and data flows.
Work with architects and domain experts on defining data standards and extensions to Data Platform
Do quality checks of solutions provided by the teams if they are done according to requirements
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Information Technology related concepts – by experience or education
2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst/System Analyst/Data Modeller or equivalent
Excellent SQL knowledge
Proficient in data modelling
Ability to understand code and write simple queries to a data storage in Python
Basic knowledge of data analysis
Good expertise in JSON and/or AVRO (or any other document-based structures)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
Advanced proficiency in English
Experience with Jira or equivalent software development tracking system
Nice to have:
Basic understanding of modern engineering concepts like Data Mesh and DDD
Understanding of modern data storage types used in Big Data
Knowledge of data governance concepts and practices
Experience in designing enterprise class solutions
